LIVE DATA · UPDATED NIGHTLY

Chicago's IT support firms, ranked by a published formula.

Every score is computed from client and employee reviews on third-party platforms, staffing data, and the certifications each firm documents or claims. Every formula is published. No firm pays for placement — ever.

Disclosure: this site is owned and operated by XL.net, a Chicago MSP that is itself ranked here. How we handle that conflict.

Methodology

Every score can be recomputed by hand.

Client and employee review scores are pulled toward the market baseline by a Bayesian prior — so a firm with 4 glowing reviews can't outrank one with 400. Every criterion states how its own score is produced below; priors and raw sources are all published.

fit = Σ wi · attainmenti
Client Reputationw = 29%

Bayesian model across multiple review platforms

Employee Reputationw = 20%

Bayesian model across employer review platforms

Proactive Issue Reductionw = 27%

attainment = (1 − reactive_share) × 100, where reactive_share = reactive / (reactive + proactive) employee titles

Security Certificationw = 24%

Tiered model: third-party documented certs are additive, a firm's own undocumented claims cap at 25

These 4 criteria drive the public ranking. Custom evaluations score all 10 criteria — see the full methodology or browse the criteria.
